This course has been specifically designed for people with whitewater experience but feels the need to hone in skill and experience with the goal of comfortably running class 4.
Day 1 pick up from Quito
Travel to Archidona River people kayak base.
Course intro and Outfitting. Roll session.
Today we will head out for a warm-up run on class 3 to see where everyone is at The aim of the day is to get comfortable in your boat.

We will be heading out to a class 3
Topics of the day:
The focus will be on the forward stroke and power development – the boof stroke.
Stepping up a little we will be running a technical river class 3+
Topics of the day:
River reading, paddling in a group. Refinement of the boof stroke, scouting.
Stepping up we will be running technical low water and big water class 3-4
Topics of the day:
Boat control, eddy attainment, work on the boof, river running, river reading.
Another full day out on class 3/4
Topics of the day:
Boat scouting and eddy hopping. Group communication.
Optional river run or rest day to go sightseeing.
Departure for those leaving the 7-day program. Hot pools.
